GANDIABLASCO 1941 – 2022. MUCH MORE THAN FURNITURE… a lifestyle

81 years old. Gandia Blasco S.A. is a family-owned Valencian company, a benchmark in the design and manufacture of furniture and outdoor spaces and the creation and handcrafted production of designer rugs through its three brands: GANDIABLASCO, GAN and DIABLA. Founded in 1941 by José Gandía Blasco and reinvented by his son Jose Gandia-Blasco in the 1990s, its history has been marked by constant reinvention and the promotion of the culture of design. The company is currently chaired by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, a member of the second generation of the family and its creative director.

Headquartered in Ontinyent (Valencia) and present in more than 75 countries with several showrooms of its own, the company is in the process of expansion and is continuously experimenting and innovating together with renowned international designers. As part of its strategy of social responsibility and environmental sustainability, Gandia Blasco Group is committed to the durability and circularity of its designs based on the use of recyclable and recycled materials. Moreover, through the social initiative GAN Women Unit, the company emphasises the preservation and updating of craft techniques and the promotion of the economic independence of the communities of craftswomen in rural India with which it collaborates.

81 years later, two generations manage Gandia Blasco Group, José and his sons Álvaro, Commercial Director and Vice President of the company, and Alejandra, Deputy Creative/Communication Director and Creative Director of Diabla.

GANDIABLASCO

GANDIABLASCO is the outdoor furniture brand of the Gandia Blasco Group. In the mid-1990s, José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales introduced design into all areas of the company, focusing his activity on the development of outdoor furniture and accessories with a marked architectural character. The expression of a lifestyle inspired by its Mediterranean roots transcended the products. Since then, the design of sober and elegant outdoor spaces has marked the company’s guidelines. The quality of its designs and the use of noble materials have led to collaborations with architects and designers of international prestige.

Today, the GANDIABLASCO brand is sold in more than 75 countries and is internationally recognised for the quality of its furniture and the creation of contemporary environments that reflect its passion for outdoor living.

TEAM

José redefined the company’s business and creative strategy, introducing design and innovation as its philosophy.

In 2004 José decided to start working with Mapi Millet. They’re old friends, with very similar tastes and sensitivities. The company’s textile tradition continued with the creation of the GAN brand, the GANDIABLASCO handmade design brand, under the management of Mapi Millet, which is still growing across the world.

The move towards contemporary architecture came with the creation of the Outdoor Spaces range, with modules and pergolas that expanded the company’s market niche. GANDIABLASCO brand products are manufactured by Valencian companies, which contributes to supporting the local economy.

The company is staffed by young, determined entrepreneurs who believe in their work and who contribute the essential factor for achieving success: the excitement of a team with belief in their project.

DESIGNERS

We work in tune with the sensitivity of architects and designers on the national and international scene. Among them, renowned designers as well as young talents, Patricia Urquiola, Neri&Hu, Soren Rose, Nendo, Mario Ruiz, Front, Raw Edges, Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, Luca Nichetto… and José A. Gandía-Blasco himself.

PHILOSOPHY

The elemental and architectural geometry of the company’s first outdoor furniture collection became known for its ability to respond to canons of timelessness and universality. Its streamlined, purely architectural design, made using a patented construction system of aluminum profiles combined with polyethylene, opened up market niches that had never existed before, enabling the company to expand across all 5 continents.

Purity of design with architectural lines defines the personality of GANDIABLASCO creations, together with the idea of large collections. More than furniture, they are fresh, elegant products that complement each other to produce settings for enjoy the outdoors, Mediterranean style.

Nowadays, the brand’s stores and showrooms can be found in more than 90 countries, in cities like New York, Hong Kong, Madrid, Oporto, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Miami…

TRADE FAIRS

The company has a distribution network covering all five continents. Displaying its collections at major International Design Fairs has enabled the brand to internationalise: Salone del Mobile in Milan, ICFF in New York, IMM Cologne, IFFS Singapore, HD Las Vegas and so on.
